Idle surfing sometimes brings one across interesting stuff all the more pleasurable because it is rare. Same was the case with ‘Umwelt’, a theory which at its simplest implies the same world maybe very different for individuals because of how they perceive it. I find it interesting because of the crossroad at which I find myself yet again. On the one hand I have a posting which is considered a step in the right direction where this profession goes, something most people would give their toes if not outright limbs for while at the other I have a boss I would love to work with, not for his competence thought that isn’t in doubt but because I like him way more on a personal level. 

For most people this would be no choice at all with the scales coming down with a resounding thump in favor of the former but unfortunately it doesn’t take much to figure what I would settle for. Adding spice to the already bubbling cauldron is the fact that the professionally ludicrous job (or the one perceived as thus by the majority) is something which is already in the bag while the latter is something which may or may not happen. In my defence in a profession where the personal and the professional are intimately linked, I would much rather go somewhere where the location may not be heavenly in the general sense but where my immediate boss is someone I look forward to meeting daily.

Being murphy’s favorite though, I see no chance of that happening. I think I am too bored with all the leisure time at my hand, said time running into infinite figures because of a body which thrives on insomnia and a mind which is sorely challenged for lack of any stimulation making the rare people who make me laugh all the more precious.

Is a posting to a place where most people wont go courtesy their gora fixation with a person I like too much to ask?
