Yesterday while waiting in line for gas I saw this young boy, barely 13 wearing clean but ragged clothes selling boiled eggs on one hand and a chubby 5 year old eating candies in the car beside mine. And I wonder, I wonder how fate plays the leading role in our lives from birth to death. What sins is the former paying for and what virtues does the latter have for being born in the lap of luxury. Leaving them aside what vice/virtue do any of us have which warrant or justify our good luck or otherwise? And to think we claim to be ‘masters of our fate’…

And so wrong we are. We live in this illusion that we have everything in control :-)

Beautiful piece of writing :-)

R,

yes and its the contrast between the haves and the have nots which is sad. what did we ever do to be born where we were or wrong in other cases......
